Blood Analysis

The ability to diagnose the presence of thiomolybdate (molybdenum) toxicity via a blood sample was developed at the University of Leeds in the 1990’s. The blood diagnosis service is now available at the University of Nottingham Veterinary School and is run by Dr Nigel Kendall (Tel: 0115 9516447). The appropriate diagnostic tool for thiomolybdate toxicity is that of the trace element base analysis, although the NUVETNA service can also offer other useful blood diagnoses.

NUVETNA staff will not be available to provide an interpretation of the trace-element base results, but Stewart Telfer (Tel: 0113 226 0666) or Peter Bone (Tel: 07785 368591) will be happy to discuss your results with you.
